Es para mi un gran placer comunicarles este mensaje enviado por el servicio de comunicacion del presidente de los Estados Unidos Barack Obama a la ocasión de estas fiestas de la Natividad. He procedido a su respectiva traduccióon y les adjunto el mensaje original. Como todos ustedes saben el presidente Obama entre otras propocisiones se habia fijado como objetivo de ofrecerles a todos los norte americanos desfavorecidos, que son numerosos en el pais, una Ley Sanitaria que les permita una protección de salud. Cosa hecha!

A pesar de que es Nochebuena, quería compartir algunas noticias interesantes: El Senado acaba de aprobar una histórica ley de reforma de la salud.
Mirando atras en los eventos pasados y mirando hacia el futuro para nuevas oportunidades, es fácil perder de vista lo que este increíble avance realmente significa. Pero considere esto: durante esta Navidad, hay millones de estadounidenses sin seguro de salud que corren el riesgo de perderlo todo si se enferman.
Hay madres y padres que se preguntan cómo van a proveer para sus hijos ya que una enfermedad ha acabado con todos sus ahorros. Existen propietarios de pequeñas empresas que se preocupan de que van a tener que despedir a un empleado durante mucho tiempo, porque el costo de los seguros está creciendo rápidamente.
Si terminamos el trabajo, todo esto puede cambiar. Habremos vencido los intereses especiales que durante tanto tiempo han perpetuado el status quo. Habremos promulgado la pieza más importante de la política social desde la Ley de Seguridad Social en los a~nos '30, y la reforma de salud más importante desde Medicare en los a~nos '60.
En diciembres a venir, millones de personas más tendrán acceso a una cobertura asequible. Los padres tendrán la seguridad y la estabilidad de saber que su seguro no puede ser revocado en cualquier momento. Y abaratar los costes de los que padecen nuestras pequeñas empresas pasarán a estar bajo control.
Al realizar llamadas, escribir cartas, organizar, este es el cambio que usted está haciendo - una vida mejor para su familia y para los hombres y mujeres en todos los estados.
Todavía queda mucho por hacer antes de que yo pueda promulgar una reforma a la legislación - una última ronda de negociaciones y votaciones finales en el Senado y en la Cámara - y cuento con su ayuda en cada paso del camino. Pero por ahora, espero que al celebrar esta temporada de fiestas, recuerda que el trabajo que usted está haciendo esta haciendo nuestra unión más perfecta, un paso a la vez. Although it's Christmas Eve, I wanted to share some exciting news: The Senate just passed a historic health reform bill.
In all the back and forth, it's easy to lose sight of what this incredible breakthrough really means. But consider this: This Christmas, there are millions of Americans without health insurance who risk losing everything if they get sick.
There are mothers and fathers who wonder how they'll provide for their children because an illness has wiped out their savings. There are small business owners who worry that they'll have to lay off a long-time employee because the cost of insurance is rapidly rising.
If we finish the job, all this can change. We will have beaten back the special interests who have for so long perpetuated the status quo. We will have enacted the most important piece of social policy since the Social Security Act in the 1930s, and the most important health reform since Medicare in the 1960s.
In Decembers to come, millions more will have access to affordable coverage. Parents will have the security and stability of knowing their insurance can't be revoked at a moment's notice. And the skyrocketing costs plaguing our small businesses will be brought under control.
When you make calls, write letters, organize, this is the change you're making -- a better life for your family and for men and women in every state.
There is still more to do before I can sign reform into law -- a last round of negotiations and final votes in the Senate and the House -- and I'm counting on your help every step of the way. But for now, I hope that as you celebrate this holiday season, you remember that the work you are doing is making our union more perfect, one step at a time. For that, I am grateful to you.
